DAVID W. HUGHES

President, Hughes Group, LLC

David graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor degree in business administration concentrating in finance from the University of Minnesota. Upon graduation, he began his insurance career with The St. Paul in 1979. From 1986 to 1989, he was as an agency management consultant in Consulting Services. David managed the Consulting Services area from 1989 to 1992. In 1992 he was appointed officer in charge of the agency consulting and training operation for St. Paul Insurance Companies.  He was promoted to Vice President, Sales and Management Services in 1998, and served in that capacity until the end of 2000, at which point he left to start the Hughes Group, LLC.

David is currently president of the Hughes Group, a firm that specializes in helping the independent agency system with financial, perpetuation and operational consulting.

David concentrates on performing agency valuations, perpetuation and business planning, operations analysis, and sales management.

David satisfactorily completed the course work in the business valuation program of the American Society of Appraisers.
